The design on the body of this pen is an antiqued Betsy Ross version of the American flag and the ceramic and chrome American flag pen kit is a picture-perfect complement to the pen's body. The Betsy Ross flag only has 13 stars on it, representing the original 13 states during the American Revolution. The pen also has an impressive bolt action mechanism for a natural writing experience. To open the pen tip, swing the bolt down. To close it, swing the bolt up.

Turn the bottom counterclockwise when replacing the Parker-Style refill (see photo for details). There is a spring inside the pen that you do not want to lose.
